Walmart of Macedon, a member of the Canal Connection Chamber of Commerce, debuted a new free service at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 3. Customers of the store, at 425 State Route 31, can now place their order online or via a smartphone app for grocery items. Items available include fresh produce, meats, and organic groceries. Tri-R Floors Opens in Macedon

Chamber Co-Sponsors Holistic Health Fair

Macedon Public Library was the site for an Alternative and Holistic Health Fair, sponsored by the library and the Canal Connection Chamber of Commerce, which was held on Saturday, April 22 (which also happened to be Earth Day). Nearly a dozen exhibitors were present, representing holistic healing practices ranging from chiropractic to homeopathy to essential oils. They explained and demonstrated their services and offered samples to more than 30 attendees. The event was free and open to the public. A Win-Win for the Community “Patrons have often asked about having such a fair, and they certainly have an appetite for alternative and holistic medical literature,” said library director Stacey Wicksall.

In the news this last week, Palmyra, New York, was the home for a Face to Face with Youth Discussion for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (a Canal Connection Chamber of Commerce member). Broadcast live from the Smith Farm in Palmyra, New York, this one-of-a-kind event is estimated to have an audience of over 1.5 million viewers.
